Therapeutic Approach

I strive to create a calming, sensory-rich therapy environment that promotes mindfulness and healing inspired by and encorporating the beauty and psychologically restorative elements of God's creation: a place to breathe in, relax, experience the peaceful quiet of Creekside's retreat setting, and be yourself without fear of judgement.
I work from a distinctly Christian perspective, and find that maintaining a positive outlook, while spending more time focusing on the solution than on the problem and on the present rather than on the past, is often a refreshing change of pace for many clients and inspires new motivation to make necessary changes in thinking and behavior. I also believe that freedom from many psychological challenges can be found in Christ through the Holy Spirit.

I am passionate about using my gifts and expertise to help people live joyful, fulfilling lives, and sincerely enjoy and appreciate the opportunity to be able to serve my clients as a therapist. I maintain Creekside Christian Counseling as a small private practice that operates as a ministry to the community in conjunction with Creekside Christian Retreat in Mexia, TX.
My professional experience includes over 16 years in the social services and counseling field working with couples and families, children and adults with a broad spectrum of challenges, concerns, and mental health diagnoses, children and adolescents with difficult behaviors, and individuals with a history of abuse, neglect and trauma.
As we work to uncover the underlying issues contributing to the symptoms someone brings into therapy, my hope is that the therapeutic process will not only bring about a positive change in what we're working on, but in other areas of life as well.
